Description: Vaginal adenosis in which many squamous pegs, mucinous pools and mucinous droplets are seen in cross-section. The squamous epithelium of the pegs and surface epithelium are composed of mature glycogen poor basal and parabasal cells, and should not be mistaken for dysplastic squamous cells or for carcinoma in situ (H&E, x 43).
