Title: Nanomaterials-Induced Endothelial Leakiness (NanoEL) Might Accelerate Metastasis
Description: Confocal microscope image of pericellular actin fibers in titanium dioxide nanoparticle-treated cells. Titanium dioxide nanoparticles were found to promote in vivo breast cancer cell intravasation and extravasation subsequently accelerating metastasis by inducing endothelial leakiness. This potential for nanomaterials-induced endothelial leakiness needs to be taken into consideration when designing future nanomedicines, especially nanomedicine to treat cancer.
