Groundbreaking improvements in treatment and prevention have led to a 27% decrease in cancer mortality in the United States over the past 25 years. These improvements are the result of the critical investments our country has made in cancer research. Tomi Akinyemiju, Ph.D., an epidemiologist studying disparities in ovarian cancer, wants patients to have equal access to quality treatment.
